The Galactic Senate

Welcome all! The Galactic Senate will be our new meeting room to decide on metaverse matters! This means that this is it's sole function...for now. This may change. This is not a slander thread like the Galactic Council one. There is no tolerance for profanity and swearing.
The leader of the senate will be voted upon once every 3 weeks! When the leader's term is up, he may be elected as many times as the voters want...unlimited! You may vote for yourself!
If the leader of the Senate does something inappropriate on this thread, then he will be immediately ousted and his throat will be slit with a razor. Then we'll rip his heart out and "The Legions of Darkness" (The Raiders special forces) will feast on it!
To be elected, one must have at least 12 the most votes! You may only vote for 1 person each ELECTION!
All issues must be brought to attention by either a senator or overlord of an empire! A citizen may bring up an issue, but it will not be voted on until a senator or overlord formally proposes it. To be considered a senator or overlord, you must have at least one other person in your empire besides yourself and you must have senator status!
That's all there is to say....now let's get started!

AMENDMENTS:
1. Anyone who is a senator in more than 1 empire counts as 2 votes but NOT 2 people! If you wish to be counted as a "Super" Senator, you must send me a PM telling me which empires you're a senator in.
2. The leader of the 1st place empire counts as 3 votes!
3. Free beer for all in attendance, but not to excess.
4. To pass anything, it must receive at least 12 6 votes, but if the nos outweigh the yeses, then it does not get passed.

OK enough screwing around. I was a terrible leader, not that I cared or not, but nothing of any interest was ever brought up. Not sporing for a week, give me a break. As some ao you can tell, my blood stream has some good stuff in it,(all Legal). I don't care if a Cat,dog or fish runs this senate as long as it is taken somewhat seriously, and belive me I can screw around and joke better than most.
That being said, for this to get off to a more serious senate, I put my 5 votes to Kzinti. I Humbly hand over the reins to you my friend

Congrats on seizing control of the senate, KP!

The death rays came in the mail today and I mounted one on my pickup before heading into work. I already had a chance to use it on that grueling 6 mile commute.

I had to apply the brakes once because this slowpoke was only doing 80 in the 65 MPH zone. (Darn road hogs!) I fired a warning shot into his passenger compartment on the driver's side.

This thing sure is handy!

On an unrelated note, I need to take a driver's ed thingy to get rid of a speeding ticket. I might look into that new speeding ticket insurance that they do to erase up to 7 tickets a year. I wonder if it's legit.

Motti, you give fresh meaning to the term speed-demon.

I sympathize with the troubles of my constituency, and consequently I'm issuing Executive Order #2 to abolish all speed limits, either planetary or inter-planetary. This order also legitimizes the use of weapons to determine "right-of way" while travelling. Might makes right!

Kidding aside, Jeff mentioned that he would like the Senate take a more serious note. I dont know if that was sarcasm or not though. Are people looking for actual discussions on things they feel are important? I dont see this thread as having that purpose, but perhaps other people feel differently.

I vote that someone should make a Metaverse Wiki that is updated unlike the other Galciv wiki! It could have info on all of the Metaverse empires.

It's odd that you'd say that. I checked the Metaverse profiles of both "The Raiders" and the "Geckodon Alliance". "The Raiders" has 2 members and is ranked #234, while the "Geckodon Alliance" has zero members and is unranked as of this post.

So, who is no more again?

1:No one has joined for reasons i don't know why.
2:My internet connection has been screwed
for queit some time and so i have to use a seprate computer for using the internet.
